That is a lovely fish! How big is he?

Oh wait I just see in the end of your post that you make all the pictures you post with photoshop. You should get yourself a job as graphics artist, you've got skills!

Nice I was looking at these today, too aggressive for my other fish though, maybe in new tank.

Anyway, tis very nice, though looks sort of like a she in some of the pics :S

How large? Also is it staying with those tankmates?

HE is a HE and HE is around 6" at the present.

Im not even going to go into your last question due to a mass erm discussion that took place some time ago on this very same tank ( i will point out though that the last post on this thread http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showto...41570&st=32 was May 19th and oh, would you believe it, the tank is still going strong with many of the same fish in it :p )

They are also nowhere near as agressive as some people make out. and instead of me stating that and you then stating that im wrong, i will refer you to the October 2006 Edition of PFK which has a 3 page spread on the Jack Dempsey by Mary Bailey. (btw, the pic they show of a JD in there looks AWFUL compared to my boy !)

May seem stupid but how are you sure it's a he? No nuchal hump, no overly long fins (not very good ones to sex a fish anyway but oh well). Has it bred before then?

u cant see it on those pics but his dorsal fin sweeps back, one of the tell tale signs of a male in chiclids

I'll believe, tis your fish after all, the last pic was what made me think it was a female, look at the fins, they look very female like.

I understand how to sex cichlids, the only guaranteed way though is venting.

Probably one of the nicest ive ever seen. Have you seen that they are not as aggro as they are made out to be?

What's all over your glass??

Nice jd btw, stocking is very iffy but I know you've heard enough.

Nice fish Spooky. As a rule I really don't like big fish. I mostly find them rather plain and boring, but he is far from!

I also feel that I owe you an apology after reading...

I did think the worst of you, until I read the thread in question and realised how full of their own self importance some members of the forums are. You should be commended for keeping your cool as much as you did.

JDs don't get very large nuchal humps, do they? Gorgeous fish he is
