Hi All (again!),

I have an aquamanta efx200 external filter and after doing some reading it seems as if maybe I should ditch the activated carbon I have in there? It's setup as follows;

Basket 1 (top) - wool - phosphate pad - sponge (black 35ppi)

Basket 2 (middle) - ceramic media

Basket 3 (bottom) - activated carbon bag - sponge (blue 15ppi)

Should I ditch the carbon and double up on blue sponge?

You are right, ditch the carbon and replace with more sponge, or even better replace the carbon with Seachem Purigen.

And it would be best to have the ceramic media in the bottom tray, the sponge in the middle tray and the carbon in the top tray intill you get round to replacing it.

Filterwool is what i use instead of carbon. If you read the replies in your other threads iv reccomended this :)
