Few Babies

mollies are typical livebearers so one possibility is they got eaten by their parents, does your aquarium have plenty of cover and plants, specifically floating plants? What are the other tank mates?

actually i,m using a fish bowl as my breeding area...

i put there a plant (artificial) ...

do you think some of the babies were still on the mommy molly's womb...

what do you think...

is she still young? it is possible if she is only young that she will not have many babies the first few times.

if she is not young then it is likely that she has eaten them, unless of course she is still busy giving birth! when did she drop those six?

Spishkeys got a good point, but the likely hood is that if you have the mother in a small bowl with a single artificial plant then most of the babies will have been eaten. Next time have lots of plants or buy a breeding trap, for the latter you will need to know when she is going to drop as these can be stressful - thats why i prefer plants, be prepared though, mature mollies can give birth to up to 100 babies!!! if half survive that will take up a lot of space!!!

Best of luck,

Jonny.

actually she gave birth to six cute little babies last September 14...

by now, her tummy is big again, just like before she gave birth...

what do you think is the suitable day of her next giving birth...

It will usually be about 4 weeks from the last time. That would be anytime between about Oct 8 and Oct 15. If the tank water is warmer it can be sooner and if it is cool it will be later. As other people have already said, you need lots of plants if you want fry to survive in good numbers. The plants can be artificial but you want so many it becomes difficult for the mother to swim around easily outside of a small area that you leave open for her.
