Hi, looking for a bit of advice about a few things.
Firstly my substrate is top soil along with JBl nutrient substrate concentrate, topped with fine gravel. I don't think that makes to much difference to the other dosing though.
I was going to go with TPN+ but its going to work out very expensive in the long run for a 60 gallon tank. And if it was me I'd probably go EI but since my parents need to treat the tank while I'm at uni ( back every weekend or two for maintenance) I don't want anything too complicated.
So am looking at the all-in-one solution here. Which basically will give me the flexibility of EI but with more simplicity and I can adjust the recipe to my needs. I'm studying biology at uni so have done Chemistry all the way through secondary school and some biological chemistry in uni last year so it doesn't phase me. Not that it should but I'm happy with measuring out and working with powders.
But would be good to hear if anyone else is using this method and any warnings. It'll cost more initially as I need to get some scales and stuff but in the long run it'll be a lot cheaper I should imagine.
The other question is before I decided to go ahead with pressurised CO2 I bought a litre of easy carbo. Now I'm guessing that this won't be in anyway beneficial but I noticed, I think it was in Aaron's journal he was using both. So thought I'd ask. Doubt I'll be buying any more once its finished, but if it will help how much should I add and when.
Thanks, pretty sure after this I'll be all sorted and I may start a journal, am undecided on that though.
