I'm going to try to get another padlock put up for the cattle this weekend, I'm hoping it's not too hot, and that I don't have too much rain to work around or through...
at least with as wet as it's been, pounding "T" posts has been easier, though it's still a lot of work... I'm still having to supplement hay during the summer, as we have too many grass eaters, so I'd like to get enough pasture, that I only have to feed hay during the winter... we only have a few cattle, but I'm trying to increase their numbers, but the sheep we have are mowing machines, and the lambs don't like to eat the coarser drier hay, so they require most of the fresh grass pastures, right now...

Wishing you good luck with it... Wasn't aware of it that you had cattle at your place...

we raise all our own meat, chickens, pigs, sheep, and cattle, all on a small scale, just enough extra to cover feed and processing costs... which is why I tried raising Tilapia as well...

super humid today, not that hot, but between them both, a 97 degree F. heat index today... wringing wet, in an hour... trying to stay hydrated, and taking a 15 minute break in my air conditioned truck, every hour...

One of my first summer jobs was doing gardening. I worked for a couple whose property used split rail fencing around most of it. if you have never done this, T posts would seem like a breeze. The posts for split rail fencing require that one use some form of post hole digger. Today one can get a powered auger style hole driller, back then I had to dig the holes using one of these.

At my peak I hit 5"5' tall. Back when I was 15 I was barely over 5 ft.

I still use the blue laying on the ground type, to put wood fence posts in, for padlock gates, though ours has never had paint on it, as long as I've been here...
I didn't kill myself yesterday, though I'm paying for it today... I plan on doing a few more panels after breakfast, and another blast of cafine
