ok here's the thing, i'm going to move my brevis into my tanganyika community tank so that leaves me with a spare tank, the tank in question is 36"L x 15"H x 12"W total cappacity of 106 litres or 23 gallons or even if you prefere 28US gallons.

anyway i think i should make it into a female betta sorority, just one question how many can i put into there exactly? i've read 6 minimum so the aggression is not all directed at one fish. I dont think they want stocking like malawis though so im looking for a ball park figure of how many i can fit into there and still keep them all happy?

any help greatly appreciated :good:

sounds good, im off out tomorrow to pick up loads and loads of plants, then maybe make a few slate caves i'll see how it goes though :good:

if you can get some moss balls and java moss that would be brilliant.get some canvass and weave the java moss into it.I sometimes use thin eleastic bands to hold it and it makes brilliant java beds for the fornt of the tank. You can make alsorts of shapes.Bettas love it aswell :good: :good: :good:

got all my plants today and the tank is looking very lush ATM just need to rig up all the lighting for it. got moss balls out of some of my other tanks but no java moss as i hate the stuff lol!

im going to be putting some medium sized pebbles in and hopefully i can stack them to make little cave hidy holes, then all i want is the females :D

Hey, I have 2 sororities. They are both at 90 litres (or 22 gallons) and each has about 12-14 girls in. I have lots of caves, silk plants etc. and they don't ever fight. You could have your girls with either 3 panda cory or 5 otocinclus. And maybe a frog or 2 would be cool. My girls don't bother mine at all. They don't even eat the baby ramshorn snails. Can't wait for pics :good:

i dont really want an cories im thinking maybe a few drawf synodontis of some kind instead.

otto's im not really fond of, they seem to just drop dead reason being is im led to beleive all otto's are all wild caught so they either take to captive life or they dont!

i'll maybe go for a bristlenose or 2, but we'll see. they could cope with a few bettas no problem because they can deal with mbuna no problem

before anything else though i need all the girls, i've got 2 already 3 on hold at the lfs and 3 being delivered tomorrow so then i just need to source another 5 from somewhere or someone! actually does anyone on here have any females for sale that anyone knows of? :good:

There are some people on here who breed so might have some girls, I'll see if I can find out for you
By the way, I took my bristlenose out because they are so dirty and bettas are so clean, I thought it was a bit unfair on them lol

a common plec yes but a bristlenose i would disagree myself, and they do take a fair emount of time to grow anyway hardly weeds. i'm still up in the air on it all though the only thing i know for sure is female bettas

Ooh just watch your ammonia etc. keep changing out water so there's no spike, I know they are hardy fish but going from 2 to 18 in a week is quite a lot, but I still HAVE to see pics :D

6 of those new ones are males in split 2ft tanks i hardly think 3 fish of that size are enough to spike anything  but i have been keeping fish since i was 16 so i know what im doing by now :p

sat here waiting for my bettas to arrive! wish they would hurry up bloody royal mail dont they know i havn't been to bed yet and that is making my head go wooo!!!
