My little female was being unusually cooperative, so I got the camera out! She's about a year old now and has really coloured up beautifully since I bought her.

I think that some of the female SA dwarfs get unfairly ignored next to the spectacular males - lovely little fish!

Hiya, lovely little fish. Do you know how big these get? Would they be ok in a 120 litre tank with a few female platy's?

I have a lone female as well :) In a 6 foot tank with other cichlids and she has staked out here own section in the middle of a big bogwood tangle she is great :) One of my favorites, really want to find a male though as I think it will help her confidence in the tank.

Yours looks bigger than mine :) She is really beautiful :)

I've got a big old male as well - he was just being a grumpy sod after re-scaping the tank. I've had a few batches of eggs off them in the past but they were in a community tank and the eggs/fry never really lasted. Now they're in their own tank with a nice cave and lots of plants, so I'm really putting a bit of effort into breeding. I guess she's somewhere in the region of 1 1/4" now.

I bought the little female from wildwoods - they stock them very regularly - and she is one of the nicest ones I've come across. Very bold too!

Cupcakes - These are lovely little cichlids, very peaceful (to other species, you have to be a bit careful with other anomolas) and very small - males get to about 2.5", females about 1.5". A pair would be absolutely fine with some platties.
