After your guppy has given birth, how long do you wait until you introduce the female back to the male.

Some leave the males in with the females the whole time. After the fry, some introduce her back after a day of rest. Usually they are rearing to get back in that main tank, especially if you have them in those in-tank breeder contraptions. I think it can be personal preferene really.

I think my female is strange. She's big... I mean for a guppy and when she had babies yesterday she didn't even stop moving. She kept swimming like everything was normal and would spit out babies arter a couple of minutes and keep swimming. I guess she's a super guppy. Anyhooo, I've seperated my three males from the females so I was wondering would it be okay to introduce the females to the males one by one, or put the females with the males altogether?

i personally would introduce the females all together as a lone female will get harassed continually by the males, at least with a few females the attention is split and less stressful :)

X2 :good:

I just leave the mls and fmls in the same tank. when the babies come out and I see them I fish some out to my fry tank and if there are any left in the main tank than they taunt the other fish and hide untill they get snacked on, than its a treat for my gupps.

i normally breed mollies , i always leave them in the tank with the adults as long as there are plenty of hiding places some always survive, that way you normally don't get overrun, however last time i did this with mollies over 30 survived. doh!!!!!, ended up buying yet another tank for them :)

:thanks: Just introduced all the females to the males and boy do they seem happy!
