 I have a 20 planted gal tank with femle guppies. Everything was fine for several months and then we noticed one by one, guppies were becoming flat on the bottom...no stomachs. They would stay on bottom of tank, and just not act normal. We change water 20% every week, give a varied diet of dry flakes and frozen brine shrimp about once a week. Parameters are all ok. No CO2 in tank. No visible sings of cuts, worms, etc. What do we do?? Have another 20 gal for just the males and they are all fine. Help

Do you only feed once a week or feed flakes daily and the dried food once a week?
Do you have tests for ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and ph?
How many females?

Yes, I tested for all and all are within acceptable parameters. There are probably 20 fish The filter is checked every week and changed if needed. I feed them daily with the flakes. I have another fish today that is getting a flat bottom. :dunno: Is it possible that there is a parasite??? I read the about the different diseases and such and that seems like it is the closest to what is happening?? I appreciate your response and any help you can give me.

You are way overstocked. You should really only have 10 guppies in there at a maximum. With over stocking then the spread of diseases and parasites is greater.
Sounds like they may have internal parasites such as worms which is very common in livebearers.

Thanks for your help. I was told that if I changed the water and kept the filter clean that I would be OK. Evidently Not !!!! Would it be okay to take some to the lfs?? Or, now that I have worms/parasites, do I need to wait until after I have medicated ?? Do not want to pass this on to someone else.... These are my granddaugher's fish, so am trying to help her. I have 55 and 50 tanks with rainbows and the other angel fish. I am trying with the guppies... I appreciate your help!!

Try to treat with a parasite treatment. Your local pet store should have a med for you to use.
Dont move into other tanks until you get them cured.
