I was woundering would a female Gourami be a good match with a male Betta in a 5 gallon tank. So does anyone have any personal experiance about them together?

depends on what type of gourami. either way though, its probably not a good idea. especially considering that no gourami is really suitable for a 5 gallon tank.

maybe a sparkling gourami?

Agree with above prolly not a good idea especially with the tank size. I have dwarf flame gourami and female bettas together tho and they're fine together.

should be fine

but maybe not in such a small tank

bettas tend to go after flame red dwarfs or honey gouramis the most but other non agressive gouramis should be fine

A five gallon is far too small for a territorial fish like a betta and a gourami. Gouramis can grow quite big and need more space.

If you had a bigger tank with plenty of plants then this combination wouldn't be a problem though
