Female Gbr

i have a female gbr(i am sure you have heard, i have been blowing up the forum about questions lol) she has a fat, really pink belly. i have only had her for 2 days now. in the store she was with 2 other females and 3 other males. is it possible she is pregnant? if so what will the male do to the eggs?

Rams don't get pregnant, as such, just 'gravid', or full of eggs.

When they're ready (and if they get on; no guarantees on that happening!), they'll clean a flat stone or leaf, then the female will lay the eggs, and the male will follow behind, fertilizing them.

Normally both parents will help guard, fan and clean the eggs, but it can take some pairs a few goes to learn what to do, especially if they were artificially raised themselves.

It's really worth letting them try, rather than taking the eggs away and hatching them yourself; there are few more delightful sights than a pair of cichlids and their brood

Yes, she might well be; as long as it's a 'healthy looking' sort of fat, with no scales sticking out or anything like that.

yeah her sales are smooth but her but is cover in dark stripes, and i heard that is a sign of stress, so ill let her chill for the rest of the night
