Female colour change...

Have a tank divided into 3 which housed 2 males and a female. The female was a strong red colour, and occasionally striped up. However, I bought a thirs male today and another divider. Since the new fella has gone in (and is next to her) her body colour has gone a pale tan...is this just getting used to the new tankmate??

Generally color change is due to emotion, or as close to it as fish have. She is probably uncertain (and therefore a little stressed) about the new tank mate. With time she should get her color back. If not, after a while you may want to change things around. It is ultimately up to you.

Cool...might leave the light off a little longer and if it doesnt work, but her lovely fella back next to her!!!

If she can clearly see him..does she have heavy planting, or some type of cover, where she can hide. Maybe she's shy lol.

The same thing happens to Amphitrite if I let her see the males too long. Seems to be from stress.

yeah eahc section has a java fern and some have rocks or bogwood as cover....quite a plush little den for each! Will get some pics up of them hopefully tomorrow!
