Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 10

pH = 7.2

Tank mates = 7 neon tetras and 4 cories, but she's seperated from them (although there is water flow between them)

She was in a divided tank with my newest male betta but I moved her a few hours ago because the tank had a nasty ammonia spike (0.5ppm) while I was away over the weekend and she's so delicate and prone to getting stressed that I wanted to put her in a section of the bigger, more mature tank.

Since moving her, and thus getting her under the lovely, strong lights of my 14 gallon, I've noticed that she seems to be 'panting' more than usual. Her gills keep moving faster than usual, although she isn't gasping at the surface at all. Her normally uniformly blue fins have dark flecks on them now and seem to have dark edging to them, and her body seems to be a slightly odd pinky colour under her normal blue colouring, which isn't normal. She also seems to have very visible blood vessels at the bottom of her pectoral fins, which I'm sure I never noticed before, and her stress stripes won't go away. She is moving and eating normally though.

Due to not having a spare tank I can't QT her fully. My boy with severe fin damage is in the QT at the moment.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

She could have been affected by the ammonia spike in which case, being in better water should help. I would post this again in the betta section as well, to maximise the chances of it being read by a betta expert. Alternatively, do you know any experts in the betta forum? You could pm them.

Thanks for the reply.

I am concerned it is due to the ammonia, although I've had spikes before and she is the first to react like this. Is ammonia damage permanent or will it heal (assuming the dark patchs on fins are ammonia burns)?

She's also got a slightly bloated tummy, and this isn't from being fed as she wasn't fed over the weekend.
