Female Betta appreciation thread.

There are plenty of threads where people show off their amazing male Betta, but I'm not seeing as much love for the girls.

To me they are just as attractive, and in fact far more interesting to watch in the case of my small group.

This is my favourite female Betta, the photo doesn't show it particularly well but her fins flash purple when she moves. She cost me £1.50 from a local fish shop, which I think was money well spent.

I have 5 girls in a heavily planted 125 litre tank with a group of peppered cory.

If I'm being perfectly honest I wasn't actually sure what I wanted to add to the tank at first, it was my 6 year old niece that batted her eyelids at me and convinced me to get a group of female Betta when I took her to my local fish shop. I only went in for some algae wafers, but I came out with 5 Betta and 20 Ember Tetra.

I've got two blues, two reds and the white one shown above.

Female Bettas are the best. You can have more than one in a tank, they look forward to seeing their owners, and they can swim normally.

I'd seriously consider a group of wild type Betta if they were more readily available where I live.

I love female bettas, the 2 female bettas I have had have been so much more hardy than the males!

My female betta, Glory. She was my first fish, i didnt know at the time that betta don‘t belong in bowls. Her set up was a 2 gallon bowl with a heater

i had a female that looked like a male. she was very pretty and bright red. i named her Ruby. (she had an egg spot, so i knew she was female.)

Heres my 30gallon, i have three females(one black orchid, one red and one blue- all veiltails) and a 1.5inClown pleco in it. I originally set up for loaches but this little sisterhood was already established at the lfs so i had to take them home. All the plants are silk ecoscapers but i have ordered a bunch of live plants that should be here friday, im excited to give them a real planted home☺
