I have a small tank with two apple snails in, but the little blighters are eating every plant i put in there! People have recommended giving them veggies, but how on earth do i get the veggies to sink??
At the moment they're fed on cat fish pellets.
Any advise on feeding them, or plants they wont eat would be great!
Thanks
Sarah

aglae wafers

or stick a fork in a piece of cucumber, or the weights you get with stem plants can be used

anubias, java moss balls and java fern should be left alone,

You can blanche vegetables to make them sink, (or so i've heard)
Or you can just spear the vegetables onto a screwcumber (type it into ebay) or a spoon or anything really that will hold it down

You can buy metal coils that you either shove veg into or pierce the veg with and then it sinks The Screwcumber :shifty: it made me laugh anyways....

Btw could you possibly try and find out what species you have?
Apple Snail.net website

Because my apples don't touch my plants. It could be you unluckily got a plant eating variety, the plants are actually dying and that's why they're eating them, or they're starving.

Im pretty certain they are pomacea canaliculata. I cant imagine they are starving though as they are the only things in the tank and the pellets are definately gone by the morning.
Am i feeding them the wrong thing?
Thanks
Sarah
