First off my tank has 2 fancy tailed goldies and 7 WCMM and an apple snail.

I am never sure if I have feed enough or to much.

I tend to feed once daily and that consits of flakes, pellets and dried daphnia. I occasionaly feed shelled peas and cucumber.

Now reading the packets and speaking to the fish shop workers they all say how ever much your fish will eat in X minutes.

Now my goldies could eat a hand ful of flakes in 60 seconds. so this method doesnt see to work. now i was thinking maybe working it out on a house hold item ie a tea spoon, shot glass, big spoon etc.

How do you measure you food amounts>

I feed my fish twice a day as much as they can eat in a minute. Some people say 3 minutes, but that's way too much in my opinion. It's better to underfeed than overfeed. Rarely do fish die of starvation (unless you never, ever feed them). My fish are very healthy and happy with only a minutes worth of food twice a day. :D

Yup, twice a day for me... I just feed a decent amount of flakes... about the amount they can eat in a minute, like chibi says. But usually you'll get in a routine so you'll know how much to feed them :good:

EDIT - I only feed them once a day on Tuesday and Thursday and don't feed them at all on Sunday... variety is probably just as important as quantity IMO.
