:grr: My cichlids are about 2-3 inchs long now....and I cant seem to find any bigger sinking pellets at fish stores :S Is there some way to train your cichlids to eat floating pellets...I bought some but they don't even go to the top as they are not used to eating up there :( but it's about time they move off the mini sinking pellets

haha i am going though the same thing any input will help

Keep the flaoting cichlids stick they are best for them. Put them i a glass/cup/container with water 10 mins before feeding then put them in the tank and they should sink failing that pinch the remaining air out of them.

They will soon adjust to feeding at the surface, Mbuna are greedy fish and will learn very quickly where the food is. Give them a couple of days to adapt and you'll be fine.

Okay..I have alot of lava rocks in there so they tend to hide alot...So should i take majority out so they are not hiding? and then put some food up there? and take it out if they dont eat it? and then try again later? That way they get hungry enough to start looking for food? I dont want them to go hungry but I also want to stop feeding them minis.

No that will stress them keep feeding it. Thell eat it soon. At the end of the week do a graval vac to suck up any uneaten food.

Okay the way you recommended feeding them the floating pellets would sink any way how will they get used to it floating though? If I presoak it first?
