I have a new tank with a pretty powerful filter with spraybar. I notice that every time I feed the food either sinks quickly or turns around the tank pretty fast making it harder for some of the fish to feed properly. So, I was thinking to turn off my filter while feeding for about 10 minutes to give everybody a chance to eat?

Has anybody of you experience with this?

I turn my filter off when I feed. I keep my power head on though. If I dont turn the filter off all the food just gets sucked up real quick. I let the power head blow the food around the tank so the fish to conjugate and fight.

perfectly fine. I turn mine off to stop the food being instantly sucked in.

If I am feeding my river tank bloodworm or other frozen foods, I have to turn off the powerhead and filters. Otherwise my loaches and gobies do not manage to get any. On my other tanks though it all stays on.

I turn my filter off while feeding because food will be pushed around the tank by the flow and eventually birth any number of nasties.

I used to turn my filter off as i had the same problem (food getting sucked into the filter before the fish had chance to eat it), but after switching it off i have had trouble with the filter kicking back into life, it seems to get stuck, so i leave it on now and let the food float around the tank...
