any tips on feeding mbuna some fresh vegetables ? like how would you feed them peas ? i assume you dont just throw them in ? do you quash them for the soft bit inside ? and lettuce, does it HAVE to be boston lettuce ? can only adults eat cucumber ? ive never heard of zucchini lol

thanks

Take the shells off peas.

Zucchini = courgette

Try the cucumber and find out.

Just remove any vegetables that haven't been eaten after 12 hours.

I agree with Jayjay; you don't have to use only Boston lettuce, you can use just about any lettuce green, or spinach, just avoid iceburg lettuce as it has little nutritious value. Cucumber isn't very nutritious either, but they seem to like it.

oh ok. does it matter how much they have ? im sure i read somewere its ok to leave some in for them to munch on through the day ???

I fed my mbunas potato the other day, I par boiled it and sank it with a lead weight, they loved it.

Cool, never thought of that.

darrel69 - I usually leave the veggies in for 12-14 hours, then pull out what is left if any. With a little experiment, you'll find out what they like and how much to give them so there is no waste.
