Feeding Red Worms

I currently have 2 pim pictus catfish and 1 peacock eel. I have not had any luck getting the peacock eel to eat freeze dried foods and there aren't any stores around here that sell frozen food. So, I sent my fiance on a quest for worms (bloodworms or earthworms) and he came back with red worms. I have never heard of red worms so I am concerned about feeding them to my fish. Does any one know what they are and if they are safe to feed? The catfish will eat anything I give them, but would the eel eat them (if they are okay to feed, that is)? Also, I know that nightcrawlers are a type of earthworm, but are they safe to feed as well? Would I just be better off ordering some frozen food offline? Any advice would be appreciated..

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum..)

What do the red worms look like? Presume as you mention bloodworms elsewhere that they are not bloodworms? Any chance of a picture?
Where did they come from? - shopwise?

I haven't seen them yet. My fiance says that some of them are pinkish-red with tannish areas and bright red towards their head, but some of them only looked red when they stretched out. They are kind of thin. I know it isn't a very good description.

He got them from a mini-mart that sells bait and tackle. The lid of the container they are in just says "Red Worms" along with the company information. I suppose that they could be bloodworms or some type of bloodworm, but I really have no idea.

A lot of flies and insects have their pupa stage as a water bourne creature which are tasty to fish.

Chances are, if it was sold at a fish/bait shop it would be safe for fish to eat, however, I am no expert and wouldn't like to put my neck on the line without seeing if I recognised them first.
