Ok so I was at a petsmart today, and noticed a bunch of cucumbers around in many of the tropical tanks. what i was wondering is do i need to boil the cucumber or do i give it to the fish raw. also i had was wondering if anyone had a little list of fruits/veggies that could be fed to my tropical fish and if they needed to be boiled or raw.

Depends on the fish and their chewing abilities. I feed my livebearers:

peas (frozen) - lightly boiled, deshelled, crushed

broad beans- ditto

sprouts- ditto

spinach- lightly boiled (blanched) and chopped

chard- ditto

very occasionally, THIN slivers of pear or apple or banana

fish like bristlenoses are also fine with cucumber and courgettes

agree with all the above but......to answer your initial question, its up to you.

Some people blanche their cucumber (stick it in boiling water for a few seconds too soften up) and some just chuck it in raw, weighted down so it sinks to the bottom.

I do the latter and my fish always had a great munch on it.
