Feeding Platys

Hi, I'm fairly new to all of this.
I always feed my platys with flake food and have found out earlier today (by way of this site) that I can give my fish shelled peas but is there anything else that I can give to my fish to help them stay healthy?

Most LFS do frozen foods now; daphnia, bloodworm, brine shrimp and things like that; fish love them, but you should feed them once or twice a week and keep the flake as the main, day to day food.

thats what i do... seems to work quite well!
