Hi all,

I have a 7" Kissing Gourami that I have grown up from a baby. Don't worry she's in a nice big tank. :) But anyway, I have a question. I'm sure this is going to sound slightly weird, but I'm just curious. Right now, she eats Veggies, Some Live Foods, and algae. But her main diet is flakes, and frozen foods. So, here's what I was wondering. Right now, I just sprinkle the food on the top of the tank, since there are other fish in the tank. She eats from the surface, but she seems to miss a lot of the food. A lot of it falls to the bottom of the tank, so I end up cleaning the tank very often. Is there any way I can feed her, where she will end up getting more of the food? I've tried just giving her little bits at a time, but she still ends up missing a lot. I've also tried turning off the filter during feeding time. None of this seems to make much of a difference. It doesn't seem like she's not getting enough food...she's very healthy ..but I'd rather not have to put in so much food, and have to syphon everyday. Of course, I will keep doing this, if that's the only way.

Oh and also, anything else I should be adding to her diet?

Thanks!

No there really isn't much you can do with other fish in the tank. She is probably finding scraps of food later on anyway, I wouldn't worry about her.

I'm not sure how much of it she finds, considering it's gravel....and it falls between the cracks. I wasn't worried, just looking for suggestions. :)

Her tankmates are a Bristlenose,2 Kribs and 3 Loaches. If that helps any.

I would decrease the amount you are feeding and the gourami should soon start looking for food itself in the gravel etc. There's no need to voer-feed as long as it is getting some.

Also, how do you know it's a she? Kissers can't be sexed visualy so, unless you've bred her or something, I can't see how you know its female :p (Just curious).

Thanks Sylvia.

I know you can't sex visually, so I'll just call my Kisser Angel...since that's it's name. I think it's a girl...but who knows.

I've figured out a possible solution, by reading some other information on how people feed their Kisser's, so I'll experiment with that. Otherwise, I have some new ideas.

Thanks again to LoachLover and Sylvia for taking the time to reply. :)
