Feeding My Betta

sorry to hear that :( he might have had some internal bacteria or parasites affecting his nervous system?

anyways RIP :-(

Thanks :)

I will be getting another one tomorrow, can i ask you a question, now in the Betta tank i have no fish so how long will the bacteria last with out dieing off? and should i do anything to my tank to clean it incase it was an infection.

John

bacteria tands to die off about 15 mins after the oxygen is cut off, could you seed it from another tank?

I would if I was you strip it down and clean it all, just in case something was in there, dont want another repeat!

and start afresh =]

Get the betta pellets. If you are in the UK I don't know where sells the pellets; you have to get them online (e-bay). They are cheap enough even with postage (cheaper than the flakes and stuff)

put some fish food in the tank while there is no fish in it. it will decay and produce ammonia which should keep the filter going. just do a nice big waterchange before introducing the new fish.
i wouldnt worry about scrubbing out the tank. likely he was stressed (from the move/conditions from the shop/etc) and something or another just "got" to him. there are always beasties in the tank water- healthy unstressed fish can normally fight it off themselves.
better luck with the next guy :)
cheers
