I was at the lfs the other day and they were feeding their cichlids lettuce. I was wondering, can I feed my fish( mollies & platies) lettuce too? Will they eat other vegies?? Can I just plop a vegetable in the tank or do I have to pin it down??

Mollies and Platies would love veggies (algae wafers too)

You usually have to boil it, clip it, or attach it to something to make it sink.
Boiling softens it for the fish, but also makes it disintegrate faster. You have to be careful how long you leave veggies in your tank as they will dirty the water.

Zuchini, peas, carrots will also go well with your fish.

:D Thanks, I have some carrots, maybe, I'll try them..

check out Ebay for something called 'Screwcumber'. I bought one a few weeks back, its like a metal coil that you thread through a veggie, this holds it in place at the bottom of the tank! Only a few quid for a pack with 2 in, a real bargain!
