Feeding Clown Pleco!

Hi folks, yet another question ...
I have heard that when you add cucumber and the like for a pleco to eat you should blanch it or zap it in the microwave.
Is there any truth in it (just wish i could see it more even with the moon lights it is very elusive)

Nah. I just cut a chunk off and pop it in the tank. My BN Pleco is all over it in a flash and doesn't leave it until the middle is destroyed
