First of all, I wish to apologise. This is a repeat post which I put in the African Cichlid section. When somebody advised me that these fish were mainly American, I asiked for the topic to be moved but the mods mustn't have seen it.

About a year ago I setup a marine reef tank, and it has been a huge success. Whilst browsing fish shops, I became tempted to setup a new African Cichlid tank, so I did.
After cycling etc, I slowly introduced the following inmates:
2x Red Head Cichlids
2x Jack Dempseys
1x Red Jewel
1x Geophagus steindachneri

Anyway, just saying hello, and I thought I'd ask about food. I feed a selection of pellets, frozen Mysis/crushed Mussel/Crushed cockle. Is there any other foods which you think they would enjoy? I've heard about feeding fresh meat, is this a possiblity?
They also feast upon the greens I supply for the Plec

Apologies for the quality of the pics, I'm not too good at it yet!

If they like it you could try blanched luttuce. Its very easy to feed, tear off a few leaves and attatch to a peg and weight it down or stick to the side of the tank.

I have found however peas are more readily taked :good:

I know that I have posted this else where and more over a couple times but heres the list of foods that all my new worlds get

marine labs bio blend large pellet
hikari excel large pellet
omega one large pellet
live and frozen mosquito larva
live earthworms
frozen scallops
frozen shrimp
frozen plankton
frozen silversides
freeze dried krill.
and ocassionally I will have fry that have been bred in my own tanks that I cull out as feeders.
