Feeding Baby Snails To Betta's

The store i work in has a few tanks that have many baby snails. I take them home to get rid of them in the tanks and my betta's seem to enjoy eating them and leave the shell behind. Has anyone done this before?

No, I personally wouldn't do it, as the snail is from an unknown origin and may carry disease
