Feeding An Insect To My Mbuna?

Unless you've raised them yourself or purchased them from your LFS, I don't recommend adding any insects to your tank as you don't know if they've been around pesticides or other poisons.
 
I agree, I wouldn't purposely feed any insects to my fish. That being said I've had "Mosquito Eater" insects fall into the water and the fish have eaten them and been fine. I wouldn't do it on purpose though.
 
Ditto...but I culture whirligig beetles in a 6.3 L hex and my fishies stuff themselves on them.Whirligig beetles are these little bugs that are almost exclusively aquatic, they swim in elliptical patterns giving them the name whirligig.The single bug is ok but I do suggest getting some bugs from a pond or something like, if you can, some whirligigs, or some water striders/skaters.
 
hey yeah, what about ladybugs? kuz i get them bad and they fall in my tanks... my fish dont eat them though...
