hello all need some ideas i currently feed all my tanks the following (not at once!)

flakes - little to no benefit for larger species
cichlid gold - pellets? if yes then the best balanced diet for all cichlids
cichlid excel - ?
rice crispies - never heard of feeding fish these
cucumber - good for more omnivorous species like geos
breadcrumbs - never heard of feeding fish these
algae wafers - for a while my jd would take a whole wafer in his mouth and crush it up. Doesn't do this too much anymore though could work for your fish

then live food once a week - unless you bred the feeders, would not recommend as feeders from lfs' can come with disease and very little nutrition

brine shrimp - :good: (for when younger and smaller)
daphnia - ?

peas are a great diet suppliment to help with digestion and cleaning the digestive tract

I Feed the oscar, Worms (Quite Big ones, He loves parading them around the tank and tackling the worm :p)

Cichlid Gold Pelets, My Rams have some aswell as I crush a few of them up and their colours have never looked so good.
I also give them only a few flakes. Now and then I put some cucumber in, Im trying to take good care of him as he is a friends fish.

Remove the bread crumbs and rice crisps from the diet, they would offer very little or no nutritional value at all.

If you want to feed feeders, I would go with something like feeder guppies, as live bearer fry are much more nutritious then goldfish or fathead (minnows.)

You could start feeding frozen foods also. Blood worms a few times a week, a long with beef heart as a treat. Brine shrimp and chopped krill could also be offered!

I presumed from this that they were fed live brine shrimp and daphnia? not feeders but i may be wrong
but i agrees that breadcrumbs and rice crispies aren't the best choice

right the rice crispies and crumbs are gone.

It did say what fish i had in signiture but its gone?

thanks all.
