hello well my problem was and still is that my tanks ammonia and nitrates/nitrites(still new sorry >.<) were to high and started turning my two goldfish(now one, one died :( ) well heres really what ive done from the day he started exhibiting these symptoms whcih was :

first day- put in medication and turned off filter and did a 25% water change AFTER medication was in and goldfish 1 has black scales(scabs) on tail and top of head
second day- nothing second goldfish died first one still alive but still ahs black scales(scabs) on tail and top of head
third day(today)- put in second dose of medicine as said on box ichs has seemed to not be visible anymore(i think hes healing) but the black scales are spreading

i just need to know what i should do i mean i feel like hes jsut suffering in there i cant turn on the filter or do a water change till 2 more days :( is he gonna have to bare it?

also i am planning on getting a 35 gal very soon with everything..im wanting a schooling tank (neons and mollies) and will be returning the ten gallon, i have an aunt who is holding a few fish that i had evacuated from the tank should i jsut let my aunt have the goldfish? she is an expert fishkeeper or should i let him be with the schoolers(ive seen alot of tanks with goldies and neons without eating them)

specs: 10 gal 1 week old with a heater and filter the tank stays at around 79 degrees goldfish seems to not mind >.>

The first goldfish alone needs 20 gallons then 10 gallons for every other one added as there massive waste producers.
Also they need double the filter size to the tank because of the waste.
Your tanks was overstocked that why it wouldn't cycle.
Black patches are ammonia burns that are healing.
What fish do you have Left now in the 10 gallon tank.
