Just was wondering if anyone used live fish as food. Just wondering because, in the wild there would be other fish to get eaten?

I know its rocky and everything, all the photos I see are only of cichlids. But there are no pellets, or nothing. So is there live brine shrimp / bloodworms which the cichlids eat?

Just wondering.

If you plan to keep Mbuna - the majority are herbivores and their live food would be algae. Bloodworm will cause bloat which can prove fatal, occasional brine shrimp feeding is fine but you will be much better feeding them a spirinula based flake/pellet/stick as the staple diet.

Research the diet of the fish you stock/plan to stock carefully as this is one of the most important areas to consider when keeping Mbuna and other African cichlids.

Now, I've heard they eat java grass?

Would I be able to setup a "patch" of it ffor them to just graze on it as they please? And allow the grass enough time to grow to keep the cycle going?
