I have a 29 gallon tank. I'm looking at different options. I may go with cinvicts but I can only put 2 fish in there so I am unsure if I want them. I want something colorful.

Would this work

1 Bulldog Pleco
1 Betta
2 Angelfish
6 cardinal tetras

seems to me like your tetras would attack your betta

and angel fish could eat your tetras when fully grown

not sure how big the bulldog pleco gets but the other fish should be ok if the tank is tall enough for the angelfish. If the tank is less than 18inches high then drop the angels. Also if you want to keep angels and cardinals together get young angels and grow them up with the cardinals.
What about a pr of Apistogramma cacatuoides, they are colourful. Or Cichlasoma sajica, there are some nice pics of those going around here somewhere.

the bulldog pleco should be fine with them, now you just have to make sure the tank is big enough for the angels :)

I checked it is in fact big enough, but I'm not sure I want them. The Pleco and the Betta I for sure want but could ys give me some suggestions of what I could put in there in addition to the pleco and betta?

a pr of Apistogramma cacatuoides or Cichlasoma sajica. Both are easy to breed and nice to look at. They won't destroy everything in the tank. You can add the cardinal tetras or some emperor or black phantom tetras

Apistogramma cacatuoides

I really like this one, but I imagine it's expensive?

Appistogram have a wide price range. The ones available at work range form £3 a pair to £30 a pair. I caould look them up on Saturday if you want, and I remember, so that you have a price to go on :good: Being a bank hoilday weekend though, we will be busy, so I may not get chance, so making no promises

Most Appistos are nice placid fish with real nice colouration. Have a look at your LFS and see what types they have. They are IMO hidden gems within the hobby :good:

All the best
