Feather Fin Catfish...... Not Being Normal?

right, i have a feather fin cat in my tank, hes approx 5 - 6 inchs
hes been in my tank a good 3 months, but he never seems to do anything other than live inside a cave i made,
i have a blue night viewing light and ive watched in the evening but he still doesnt come out,
i have green algae building up on my gravel slowly and i would have thought that would of brought him out,
but no. what the hell?
he seems to be a pointless addition right now!

dont worry about him it will come out when the lights are out ive only seen my upside down cat twice in 9 months

are there any methods anybody knows of the encourage these cats out??

no there nocturnal you might catch them out one time if you switch the lights on late at night but apart from that no

They are very nocturnal, mine hid for ages but eventually started coming out for food. Never ate any algae by the way. Remember 3 months is not a long time, it can take a long time for fish to feel confident.
Blue or red lighting may help in the evenings so he is fooled into thining noone is watching.
