the standard 55 gallon, has become my favorite size and shape aquarium... I have tanks from 10, to 250 gallons, and find the 55 gallon easier to place and work on, and seems to provide a nice "slice of the lake" that the fish can easily work with... I personally like the higher glass of a 45 gallon tall, or 65 gallon, but they don't seem to set up as well for the fish... the 30 gallon longs, are about like mini 55 gallons dimensionally, so they are nice if you don't have the room... of coarse if you are breeding many like the shorter breeder sizes... I just find the 55's, which are typically just a little taller, than a lot of the "breeder" tanks, as one of the best all around tank sizes and shapes...
