Hello everyone, so I currently have an 'old school' corner filter in my tank but I think I need to upgrade to a sponge filter. Any suggestions?

Hi a sponge filter is good, Im assuming your corner filter is the one filled with wool like fiber and charcoal as I use to have and it works well but you have to clean it, a real yucky job whereas a sponge filter is a quick wash under the hose. The other filter I really like and I have them on all of my tanks especially for bettas is the waterflow filter. This sits on the edge of your tank, sucks the water up into a filter and spits it out like a waterfall very gentle. But have a look around there are a lot to choose from Im sure you will decide of one of them. :good:

Hydro H-0's are pretty much standard for smaller fry tanks; http://www.jehmco.com/html/hydro-sponge_filters.html

Oh I forgot to mention if you use a waterflow filter wrap a piece of stocking around the intake pipe so you don't suck up the fry.

Yeah I went ahead and got a typical sponge filter but since it likes to spew a lot I stuck a string anacharis in the end of the tube so it flows down it quietly and less annoyingly
