Fat Little Betta

how big is the tank?
what else is in it?
and what are your water stats?

The tank she came from is a 75 gallon, All of those stats are right on. 30 com. fish in that.
She was moved to a 5 gallon about 5 days ago, and I have been feeding her peas for the last few days. Every other day. The stats in the 5 gallon should be ok, I have been doing water changes daily, so anything that is building up is not a real big deal. (see first post for more info) I will keep you posted and Thank you for all of the responses.

30 community fish.
I will test the small tank, but I am confident that the lvls are in the "safe" range as I have been doing at least 25-50% water changes daily.
lets just say that they are eggs inside her, is there anything I can do to move this along or do i need to just wait it out.
If it is the start of dropsy, shouldn't i start doseing maracyn(sp)2 now rather than later. She is still swimming sideways, this is new as of today, she was a little off before, but not like this. when she rests at the bottom of the tank, she basically lays right down on her side.
It also might be swim bladder disorder.

stringy white poo is a sign of something internal...usually a parastie. doubtful fropwy as suggestede. id usggest getting her an INTERNAL parasite med. treat the whole tank. cut back her pellets drastically. esp since you say she scours for the others food. one a day at most (a betta's stomach is only as big as their eyes). peas are great to clean them out so keep that up. starve the whole tank the day after pea feeding (peas will prob benefit all the fish). large water change severy few days wont hurt either. and if shes eggy, the "diet" will help her absorb her eggs.
cheers.
