Fat gourami

I have two cinnamon dwarf gouramis and one seems to be over weight. Its mid- section is like twice as fat as the others. What could be causing this? is it normal?

It could be that it is a female.

One of the surest ways to tell the sex of gouramis is to look down on them from above. The male will be slender and taper from the front to the back, while the female will have a definate bulge which will then taper toward the tail. The male's fins will be longer and tend to end in a point while the female's will be shorter and rounded. but in the small gouramis the difference is not too great.

Other than that, it your fish healthy? It doesn't have any scales sticking out, does it?

It seems to be healty. its active and has no physcal abnormalities.
