A friend of mine was asking the other day which fish he should put in his aquarium. He has an external filter which is creating a nice flow through the tank and he wanted to know if there were any fish which enjoy/prefer this sort of environment?
The tank is 24"L x 15"H x 12"D
Apart from that all he has are a few catfish (corys) in there.
I couldn't really answer him so i hoped someone on here could shed some light?
well alot of fish can handle a "good amount" of flow with no prob. The fish you would want to stick clear of are fish that have small fins for their body size (hard to propell themselves) and fish with abnormally lareg fins (fins go from helpful to acting like sails).
For that sized tank (think its a ten gallon).. maybe a school of smaller tetras (cardinals) or danios could work well. Depending on how many cories he has already you would want atleast a shoal of 5 to 6 for either the tetras or danios to make them less stressed
EDIT: forgot to say too... that is the weirdest avatar... if I saw a creature like that running towards me... I would have to question mother nature... haha
