Fake Plant Bases/weights Dissolving......!

i have bought 3 fake plants that are for aquariums, and since putting them in my qt tank the bases/weights are dissolving in the water..... they seem to be made of a white chalky pumice kind of stuff. my qt tank has a bare bottom and where the plants have been there is a really fine chalky substance on the floor, is this harmfull to my fish? should i remove them? i cleaned the tank with a vac on saturday and in the 2 days its been there is quite a lot of stuff on the floor of the tank! im due a delivery of corys tomorrow and am unsure whether to put them in there with this as they might try eating it......
what do i do? :unsure:

just done a quick vacuum and sucked up all i could get and removed the plants..... fingers crossed my fish will be ok. the fish in there seem fine so maybe nothing to worry about.

would be very interested why they were dissolving though if anyone knows........ :unsure:

sounds like they aren't very suitable for water submersion. What make/brand are they? Where did you get them from?

sounds like they aren't very suitable for water submersion. What make/brand are they? Where did you get them from?

not sure of the make/brand as i threw the packaging away...
i got them from ebay, the guy is still selling some plants on there so he must own a shop or has bought a job lot and selling them on.....

they 100% stated on the packaging they were aquatic plants (fakes) and were unopened!

I bought about 12 silk plants off ebay, and about 4-5 of the bases dissolved, but the rest were fine for ages. I guess it's hit and miss.

do you think is harmfull to the fish? i bought 6 in total and as far as i know only 1 is doing it and the base is almost half the size it was in less than a week!!!!!!
