hi i finally got my kiilifish eggs today, but the seller has sent me a tiny capsule with the tiniest amount of fairy shrimp in (eggs), the hatching date is in a week for the fish eggs so i need to know fast how to hatch the eggs or if they are fed like they are ( dry unhatched)

really appreciate your help

Fairy shrimp eggs are hatched like brineshrimp eggs, except they need freshwater. The purer the water the higher the hatching rate, so if you have any distilled, deionised or RO water that would help :).

Just get a glass, put some eggs in and pour the water over them, leave the glass in a light place that's not cold (under a lamp is perfect) and you will have loads of BFS in usually less than 24 hours :good:.

so do i use an airstone with them, or not,and as i dont have any of the water mentioned will a bottle of water be ok??
cheers shelagh xxx

Sure, it depends on the stats on the side of the bottle, but worst case scenario less will hatch :). Most fairy shrimp eggs (including the Thai species that comes with these kits) are 'programmed' to hatch at different times depending on the water chemistry, some wont hatch at all unless the water has very little TDS - so it's best to simulate rainwater as close as possible, some will hatch quickly in water with high TDS, some will take longer to hatch in such water while some won't hatch at all.
Look for the brand of water that has the lowest 'dry residue at 180C' rating :good:.

Don't need an airpump, I wouldn't recommend one unless you have a setup for hatching brineshrimp (like one of those upturned bottle things), as the movement on the waters surface makes more eggs stick to the side of the tank, and it's harder to see the hatchlings.
