How do you get fish to breed? The Fish that I get never breed in my waters, and they are usually the "prolific ones" I don't have a testing kit but I know my water has a high ph of 7.8 or higher and the testing strips say its soft water? Not only that but the tanks were always in good condition, always clean, never ammonia spikes, fed well, Is there anything people can do in a general fashion to get them to breed? Just wondering

Usually with the prolific breeders, they breed without having to do anything special. This is a funny comment but are you absolutely positive that you have both males and females. The reason I'm asking is because sometimes males and females can look similar to each other. If you're sure about having both sexes, how many of each do you have? What is their behaviour like? If you only have 1 male and there is something wrong with him, then he may not be breeding with the females. You could consider adding a couple more(if you have room for more) to see if that gets things going.

Thank you so much <3 Muah!! Usually it was a male and female of each species, molly, balloon molly, platy.. etc. I'll try it
