Hello I am fairly new to fish keeping. my setup is as follows

Juwel vision 180
Fluval 305
T5 lights

Fish:

2 red line torpedos
2 silver sharks
1 red tailed shark
1 black finned shark
2 plecostomuses

I brought some live plant that grew at such a rate that i was trimming it down every other day and took it out. since then i have been having a problem with algae in the tank. I have tried live plant in the tank since but it always seems to die after a few weeks. I have been told that using a co2 system would help but have no ideas on which setup to use.

Any help would be appreciated

If i'm not wrong....

The torpedo barb may grow to about 6" and needs about 250L
The silver sharks need approx 6ft tank when adult size
I was also under the impression that the black finned shark needs brackish water.
Also do your red tailed sharks harass the others?

I'm not an expert on fish and compatibility, but I feel that all but 2 are completely unsuitable for your tank. There are all sorts of problems with stunted growth and the effects that can have.

Did you research your fish before you bought then or did you inherit the tank?
