My first two fish where fair fish plain goldfish from the fair that I won. They died because we knew nothing about fish so we overfed them by mistake. I had two more after that from the fair they lived for two years until we introduced some fish we brought from the shop to the fair fish. Ok are you with me. Then I brought more fish from the fish shop and 2 of them died then I got 2 more fish from the fair one died then the other died a few mouths after that. Then I got 1 more fair fish that is alive now.

Simple: I had lots of fair fish that all died and now I have 4 fish from a fish shop and 1 fair fish

Any Comments

by fair fish do you mean goldfish that you have won at a Fairground?
which btw is now illegal for fairs to give such prizes.
Please read this pinned topic on goldfish

I had a goldfish that I won at a fair in 1978, I had him (Jaws) for about 10 years before I donated him to a friend's pond. As far as I know, he, or his decendants are still there.

Hi sizedude, nice to see you in live chat tonight.

You got any pics of your fish?

Danio, sizedude has had the fish for 5 years so it wasnt illegal then.

I have had quite a lot of fair fish, in fact I have one now most of them have died before like they do quite quickly one of my pair lived for about a year or two and that’s quite a good age for a fair fish, but then we introduced them to so fish we brought at the fish shop. Two of the shop fish died then both fair fish did most of my fair fish died because of a bent back tail :/ which bends back then they can't swim and its horrible to see them struggling at the bottom I think this is a defalut breeding. The fair fish I have now is good though looks quite healthy to be honest :) .
Do you speak english?

An unreadable post merits a sarcastic reply

What do you need advice on?

Tjimbsoj - if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all

sizedude - I do agree it was most likely that batch from the breeder. I'm surprised that you got fair fish only 8 months ago, but then again I'm not sure when that law started to be imposed. Very sorry to hear about your losses. My suggestion would be to buy less fish from fairs and more from LFS. They will most likely be of better health and should have fewer problems in the long run. Best of luck to the remaining fair fish. Just out of curiosity what size aquarium are you keeping your remaining fish in? With a larger tank your causalities could be fewer.

Apologies, but I truly could not understand what he was trying to ask. It just seems if some people put some extra thought into their posts and replies, we could come to some more accurate, relative answers.

Just a thought

I don't think fair fish are illegal in the U.S. I don't see them often anymore, I usually see hermit crabs.

I do not win any more fish of the fair now  I buy them from the shop and look after them properly. I have now got the inpresion of a total :S.

This is my tank
