f8 nearly dead not gonna give up

my full grown f8 has finrot & is being treated for it, but he keeps pressing the funny bobbleie things on his face on the water surface. he is also fliching at random & whaen i turn the light off he hangs in the corrner I'm afraid to turn the light off in case he dies when i sleep,.

You mentioned that in the LFS it was kept at 1.003, you kept it in 1.007. I think this is what has caused it all to start. The difference was too big, causing it to get stressed (Far as I'm aware, you're supposed to up the sg by 0.001 a month). And like I said before, figure 8s should only be kept in brackish water up to 1.005 ... I think those 2 factors together just stressed him out too much. Besides that I really cant think of anything that might have caused it either... sorry.

I hope he/she will pull through, but I'm afraid to say I dont have much hope.

I tried finding information that would confirm puffers getting ill from a big raise in the sg, but cant find any symptons or anything. Perhaps it might be worth it to send CFC a pm for a quick answer on what might be wrong ... I think he'll be your best bet with brackish water fish.
