Extra filters

I've just added an internal to bump up filtration in my 35 for when I add more fish (some of the plants in there seem to stop the water flow reaching the other end so well). I also added one into my currently cycling tank. It means I can remove one should I need to use the quarantine tank once they're both cycled themselves without overly compromising any other tank.
Should I expect any problems regarding nitrItes etc? Or should it all be ok? I don't really expect it to cause issues since they both have filters running and the one with fish has been fully cycled of course. I'm just curious. WIll it take longer to have them ready since the tanks are already being taken care of with other filters?
Ok, well if that makes any sense I'd appreciate a reply. I like to play safe when it comes to the health of my babies.
