Hi everyone. Right now in my 29 gallon tank I run one Life-Glo 2 light, and add Seachem Flourish Comprehensive (the general one) fertilizer once a week, and I have a fair amount of fish. My question is, should I add any other ferts to the tank? I want the most maxiumum plant growth, but I don't run any Co2. In the summer I will get a twin-tube hood and I will probably be running a Life-Glo 2 and a Tropic Sun bulbs, which will give my tank a wpg of 1.3 instead of .6 that I have now. I do not plan to add Co2 in the future. As of now I still have algae which will sometimes come in bouts, and cover the leaves of my plants, but the plants are a nice green color, and are growing somewhat slowly, but surely. And by the way, my substrate is sand (i know, not preffered, but I have cories and kuhlis) and I have about an inch of it, but I will add about another inch and a half in the summer also.

My plants right now:
  • Green Hygro (Hygrophila Polysperma)
  • Water Wisteria
  • Hornwort
  • Java Fern
The plants that I will add in summer:
  • Vallisneria
  • Java Moss
  • Elodea
  • Anubias (probably the nana variety)
What do you advise I do for maximum growth? Money should not be a factor, yet I still do not want to get Co2 (I will get $650 for babysitting my little brother the entire summer)

Edit- Another thing to add-I will also set up a 10 gallon tank in the summer, which will be a breeding tank for a pair of Cockatoo Dwarf Cichlids (Apistogramma Cacuatoides) and i'll add some shrimp. The tank will have gravel, it will run 1 Life-Glo 2 bulb which will give the tank a wpg of 1.5 and I will add ferts to there too (I plan to heavily plant it) So that tank will be a bit more plant-friendly.
