Hi.
I was just wondering if it matter if you had a filter what is too big for ur tank.
Somebody gave me a Fluval 404 which can be used for a 87 uk gallon tank.
Its currently in my 37 uk gallon tank.
Does this matter?
Should i get a smaller filter or will this one be OK?
Thanks in advance

IMHO the more filtration is better.
that filter you have will be great on your tank, and you now don't have the expense of buying a bigger one when you upgrade your tank.

As long as the fish aren't bothered by the current, it's always better to overfilter than underfilter. All of my tanks have at least double the necessary filtration.

yep as along as the fish aren't pushed againast 1 side of the tank with the power of the flow then your fine.

if the fish are struggling a bit then on those fluvals you can turn then flow down a bit, or face the oulet so it's aimed to the front panel of glass rather than long ways this way it won't produce such a current.
