Hey guys, so i'm looking to upgrade from my tiny nano tank and I've found an Aqua one ar620 (90L) which fits the bill.

I'm yet to purchase the tank and tbh I'm not sure what i'm going to stock it with yet apart from my 4 harelquins and 2 neon tetras, also I want the tank to be planted. The seller has offered to include an Eheim 2213 or an Eheim 2217 with the tank set up (£109 and £135 respectively). I'm fairly new to these filters but just going by specs the 2213 should be perfectly adequate for my needs as the tank is 90L. The question is tho is it worth getting the 2217 and reducing the flow so that if I ever need to upgrade again I have a future proof filter. Or is it completely unworkable as the flow is too strong.

I'm pretty set on the Eheim as i've read countless positive reviews on the classic range. Another thing to point out is that the 2217 would come pre cycled which would really kick start my new tank.

I'm not sure of the rules on linking but I can post the link for the tank if its allowed.

Anyhu, thanks in advance for any advice given. Pang :)

i'd be interested in the link
if it's a shop and they sell bigger tanks

Hey thanks for the advise. I guess its always better to have the option of upgrading than risk needing to invest again.

Unfortunatly its not an online shop, just a very popular online auction site which we all know. There really are some fantastic deals on there, I almost bid on a Juwel rio 180 today for £70 including an Eheim 2222. Unfortunatly it was too large for my room but no bidders!
