hi, newbie to this so please be Patient with me, my Daughter has a 48litre tank internal filter but im told that
an external filter is much better but i cannot seem to find one that says its ok for 48litres i have seen this for sale on ebay, Eheim 2213 External Canister Filter & Media im told very good is there any good makes that i could also look at. regards pete.

a Fluval 105 would be perfect.I know its says for 100l aquariums but i always aim for a 10X turn over every hour and the 105 does 480lph so would be perfect.

the 2013 would be fine. indeed, perfect. :good:

A benefit of an external also is the length of time between cleans.

My eheim is good for 6months before cleaning, whereas my two internals need cleaning 4-5 weeks.

Though if you plan on keeping small fish, (ie, neon size) u will need to disperse the current in a way that the fish aren't struggling continouesly.

:)

the 105 gets nowhere near 480lph. it may say so on the box. try half that figure, and you are closer to the truth.

Ive got a 405 and thats brilliant. I would go for the 105 just because your guppy wont like really strong currents.
